Join us for the official launch of a first-of-its-kind report on Nova Scotia’s digital economy, offering a comprehensive view of its economic footprint, labour market dynamics, and future growth trajectories. Presented by Nortal Canada.

This session will bring together leaders from across industry, government, and the broader ecosystem to explore what is driving growth in the province’s digital economy, where key constraints exist, and what is needed to unlock the highest growth potential.

The event will feature opening remarks to set the context for Nova Scotia’s digital future, followed by a presentation of key findings from the report, highlighting key insights related to talent, investment, productivity, and economic outcomes. This will be followed by a panel discussion that will then bring together sector leaders to reflect on the findings, share lived experiences, and discuss implications for their business strategy and broader and ecosystem development.

The session will:

  • Provide a clear and data-driven picture of Nova Scotia’s digital economy, including its contribution to GDP and employment;
  • Examine the balance of supply and demand, including emerging pressures related to talent availability, experience levels, and retention;
  • Highlight key gaps limiting growth, including firm scale-up, capital intensity, and technology diffusion;
  • Surface the critical enablers needed to support long-term growth, from talent development and attraction to infrastructure, policy, and market access and;
  • Explore future growth scenarios and what they mean for province’s trajectory and positioning.

This event is designed to leave participants with a shared understanding of the opportunities and trade-offs ahead, and a clearer sense of where to focus efforts to support a more resilient, inclusive, and competitive digital economy in Nova Scotia.
